We invite you to bring laughter to the NYC Subway on
World Laughter Day, Sunday, May 2!
This is a free event which will involve bringing the spirit of laughter to the subway trains of New York City. Our intent is to spread laughter from the participants to bystanders and back again creating a ripple effect of positivity and possibility.
What is World Laughter Day?
“World Laughter Day” was created in 1998 by Dr. Madan Kataria, founder of the worldwide Laughter Yoga movement. The celebration of World Laughter Day is a positive manifestation for world peace and is intended to build up a global consciousness of connection and friendship through laughter.
What is The Levity Project?
The Levity Project is a social movement that brings together people who are agents of social change (that means YOU!). Together, we engage in public acts of laughter, play and celebration (in a flash mob-style) to create change in a social setting. Come celebrate and be a part of World Laughter Day NYC 2010 by laughing with us and making change happen!

The details of the subway event will be given only to registered participants before the event day. This is a FREE event (although you will have to purchase your subway fare). You must be registered to receive the detailed information of the specific laughter train routes. This will be a coordinated event to distribute laughers in groups on cars.

Our subway rides will all come together in Times Square at noon, bringing our laughter from underground, out into the sunshine. We will be joining Laughter Yoga leaders for a World Laughter Day Celebration from 12-1:30, walking and laughing from Times Square to the United Nations. No registration is necessary for this part of the event.
